He seems like the sort of character who might get a second outing. Thank you so much for reading and for the kind comment, Deborah.

Oooh, really enjoyed this, Barrie. It’s so dark and so well written! I love how you reveal the details gradually. Excellent pacing!

I thought I would treat myself to a longer piece; so pleased you felt the pacing worked - I was hoping to create that sort of effect for the reader. Thanks so much for the encouraging words, Justin.

That is so kind. Thank you so much for reading and for the encouragement. We’ve been in the UK, sans laptop so no writing. I was super keen to get going again and this popped into my eyeline in my drafts. Have a fab day.

Thank you so much for reading it, Victoria. I have a sneaky feeling that Shylock might merit a second - darker still? - outing.

You’re so very kind. I’m a little worried that he has some dark issues and the obsession might be very dark. We’ll see. It does feel like the set up for an extended revenge on the Chairman.

Dark and twisty. Hmmm πŸ€” is there a second part? Love your idea of a notebook of prompts!

I'm having to come and find your work these days, as it no longer shows up in my feed. Quite possibly the same thing is happening to my posts! So little engagement! πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I thought you’d taken a pause, Debs ... I’ll hunt around. I wonder why the folk we like to read aren’t showing up in our eyeline.

Thank you for the kind words. I have been speculating about a Part II but it might be darker still.

I rewrite the prompts list regularly as a trigger for inspiration

I look forward to Part 2.

No, I have been posting weekly and have finished my fiction series.

It is so frustrating and disheartening that we can't find each other easily, and my Notes and Chats are disappearing into the ether as well - no traction at all on anything. Beginning to believe all the stuff that's going around about big(ger) names being promoted and small ones not .. Big sigh.

So frustrating for you when you are working so hard. I have had a bit more luck with Notes, with some of the ones about encouragement and not getting too anxious about growth on Substack hitting the mark. I've not even tried Chat ... I think that would stretch me too far. I spent some of the morning writing an art-inspired piece, a reminder that the aim for me has to be creating as much as sharing. Don't let it get you down. We can chat about it in the new year!
