A fine return to shorter forms, B. Charlotte's dad was also that captain that could never swim! He couldn't stand the water, but spent most of his lifetime afloat on it!
Thanks so much, Matt. I bet Charlotte’s dad could tell some tales. JoJo’s brother in law - Stuart - was captain of a privately owned luxury yacht. Lots of stories! I have been floating a 100-worder a day out onto Notes (I’ll gather them all into a post for the end of the month) to get back into the grove. The ideas are often harder to find than the words. Thanks for the kind encouragement.
Ah, thank you. If I’m allowed to be pleased by my own words, that line was a wee favourite! So happy it jumped out. The Cap’n should’ve gone to swim class!
These are excellent, Barrie! I especially loved Distant Horizon…that final line is brilliant.
Ah, so generous, thank you, Justin. It was a line that came to me quite early on … not sure why I’ve gone all C S Forrester!
These are both great Barrie, I couldn't decide between them if asked, both capture an image and emotion! Brilliant!
Ah, too kind, Susie. Just warming up my brain and my pen! Thanks for peeking in.

Looking forward to them. x

"Their dark intentions pecked at the morals of honest seafaring folk". Beautiful.
As for "sacrificing the Captain to Neptune" -- shiver me timbers, matey!
