Did you ever wonder what is happening just out of shot when you look at a well-known piece of art? Do you ever think about the minor characters or the folk you cannot see?
I do.
So I started writing Art-Inspired Fiction.
The Nighthawks (Edward Hopper)
The Love Letter (Johannes Vermeer)
Yellow Poppy Flowers (Vincent van Gogh)
In The Loge (Mary Cassatt)
Hard Hit (William Quiller Orchardson)
Same concept as ekphrasis poetry. Have you ever tried it? I took a creative writing class earlier this year and dreaded that assignment. However, I found it enjoyable and rewarding.
Inspiring work!
