Symphony
A breezy start to the day
Our long grass sways in the breeze. The sunshine drew me out with my lemon water in hand. But the wind cuts through the whispered promise of warmth. A great tit and the blackbird vie for my attention, each taking its lyrical turn. Their sounds pierce the background chorus stirring the chestnut trees. The sunlight falls on Charentaise stone, adding an uplifting glow to the morning. Grasses bow, rise, and dance in the sunlight. The wind plays the strings, energised, insistent. My eyes are drawn to the swaying treetops in the woodlands surrounding us. Strong boughs pushed around by the bullying breeze. But the birds sing on, soloists weaving themselves into the symphony of a new day.

Well written and I particularly enjoyed the line...bullying breeze! Brilliant!! Our winds here are just exactly that! Bullying! 🙏
