Aw, thank you so much, Gabby. I haven’t really been ‘feeling’ the fiction, so it was a lovely surprise when this popped into mind. Lovely encouragement, thank you.
The word has been loitering with intent since it popped up a few weeks ago. And the Foreward to your beautiful book nudged me into action. Your poetry is stellar. Sounds like you and JoJo had the loveliest of evenings. We were saying, you’re welcome any time you need an escape to the country, either when we’re here or you can have the place to yourself.
It has popped up several times in the past weeks, Mark, and most recently in the Foreward to ‘Spill’ a beautiful book of poetry by Mitalee, a new friend of ours in Paris. The story flew into my head after a fallow spell. Thanks for reading.
The coffee-shop owner as "tired" as her place of business, the unemployed man needing the early morning Speyside pick-me-up, the rude, narcissistic, shallow gang of women (disgusting), the sweet, ineffectual Pilates coach. You are a keen observer, Barrie. I can see these characters, too. Kindness: an idea whose time has come.
A hugely belated Wowsah! Barrie, this is gorgeous writing - I felt like a silent old bag lady sitting in an inconspicuous corner listening to every word, taking in the looks and dissecting the responses... this is really lovely storytelling, more more more!
Now I am trying to think of a way to work the word 'sonder' into something I could write.... hmmm, not easy without people!
The generosity of your enthusiasm is all the incentive anyone could need to kickstart the ‘more, more, more’. A thousand thanks for the encouragement, Susie.
This is so lovely and poignant Barrie. I loved the way you pulled each thread of thought together - masterful. And beautifully illustrating the message 💛✨ love it x
Love thus thought provoking tale with imagined pictures
Aw, thank you, Mum … occasionally the words find their way out.
Such vivid storytelling! Loved this

One of my favorite words and a beautiful story you’ve written.

This is so kind! It really brought my book to the surface, thank you for sharing your beautiful space (& words!) with me🧡
Ouch. A beautiful short.
Aw, thank you so much. It just popped into my thoughts today. I couldn’t stop it.
I really loved this. Not only could I see it, but I could feel it.
That’s a lovely thing to say, Madonna … thrilled to have evoked that with my scribbles.
Good read into the seemingly mundane, so much going on indeed in this complex world.
It’s the human tales that fascinate me. The millions of everyday moments. Thanks so much for reading.
Sonder's a good word! And one that was new to me today, thank you, and for the rest

Oh this was wonderful. Thank you so much. I felt like I was watching it through each set of eyes as it happened.
That’s so lovely to know, Sean. Thank you.

Thank you for noticing all the details, Sharron. Really appreciate your eye on it.

Love this Barrie…. And spooky does it, the coffee shop in Leeds where GiGi works is called Sonder…
Thank you so much … love the sound of that coffee shop. Love discovering new (to me) words to play with …

Such lovely words about my words. You know how to encourage a scribbler! A thousand thanks 🙏
